Health Food
Believe it or not, health food can be quite tasty. The myth that if it’s good for you then it has to be hard to get down is simply not true. The fact is that a healthy diet includes a wide variety of foods, some of which you’re probably already eating.
The trick to understanding health food is to understand the requirements of the human body. The body requires elements from each of the main nutritional groups in order to work efficiently; this includes proteins, carbohydrates and fats. It’s where these nutrients come from that is the most important consideration.
Fat, for instance, is largely misunderstood. The body needs certain types of fat in order to adequately absorb vitamins and other nutrients; but it is the type of fat that is important. Trans and saturated fats can lead to higher blood cholesterol levels, so it is important to ensure you’re getting the right types of fat and from the right sources.
